Stop Making "Feeling Good" an Afterthought

I believe that you can look good without feeling good. But I do not believe the opposite to be true. When you feel good, you radiate a beauty that is undeniable and unique to you.

This week I scrolled past an Instagram caption that promised: “9 ways to look (and feel) better...” As I read this, I realized that feeling better was so much an afterthought that the writer chose to put it in parenthesis. And this message is not unique. Looking better tends to be the priority in our culture.

One of the most impactful sessions I had with my coach taught me to be in awe of my body and all that it can do. Truly, we spent 10 minutes gushing about how mind-blowingly cool our bodies are! And since then, I’ve been focusing on honoring how my body feels above all else.

This shift in perspective has also allowed me to tap into my Body Compass, a tool I’ve learned more about in Martha Beck's life coach training. Understanding my body’s signs and signals has guided my decisions over the past year – from what I eat for breakfast to how I invest in my business.

If you’re interested in feeling better and reconnecting to the power of your body, please consider enrolling in coaching!
