2022: Inspire
inspire (v): to influence, animate, or bring about; to breathe into; to guide or control by divine influence
After 10 years, I know what it feels like to choose a One Word for the year, and I know how it feels when my One Word chooses me. This year, the year of Inspiration, started with the question, “What do you want to do in me and through me this year?” And it has exemplified that sense of co-creation ever since.
My original intention behind Inspire was to focus on abundance and expansion. I wanted to surround myself with inspiring people who would challenge me to think and dream bigger. I wanted to feel inspired, and I trusted the ripple effect Inspire might have on those around me.
As is often the case with my One Word, it unfolded in unexpected and deeply meaningful ways. Throughout this year, I found creativity, capability, and connection. I welcomed new friends and incredibly powerful people into my life. I spent time with visionaries and change-makers, looking to challenge “life as we know it” and to contribute to the betterment of others.
I witnessed and experienced the power of shared vulnerability. I said ‘yes’ to memories and experiences with people I love. And in a year where I rebelled against goals and commitments, I completed 200+ classes at FlowFit Yoga Studio, I committed to 12 weeks of The Artist’s Way, I donated blood consistently every eight weeks, I created and hosted five workshops, I launched Anomaly’s website, I graduated from the nine-month Wayfinder Life Coach Training, and I did all of this with authenticity and grace.
I’m incredibly proud of this Inspiring year and how I’ve shown up and grown along the way. Writing this has offered me a chance to recognize and celebrate. And I invite you to do the same:
What do you want to recognize and celebrate as you look back on 2022?
