Less Hustle & Bustle, More Pace & Grace
Between family gatherings, holiday office parties, hockey tournaments, band concerts, cookie exchanges, and more, there are plenty of things pulling at our time and attention during this most wonderful time of the year. There are gifts to buy, halls to deck, toy drives to organize, and endless cleaning to do before the guests arrive. Naughty and nice aside, the to-do list is long. It’s easy to get wrapped up (pun very much intended) in the hustle and bustle.
And yet, we get to choose the pace with which we move through this holiday season.
Despite how it feels, this is also time for slowing down and finding peace. It’s a time to bundle up, cozy in, and savor sweet moments with those we love. It’s a time for soup, and slippers, and snuggling up by the fire. We are offered an opportunity to reflect on our past, present, and future. It’s a time to share gratitude for all the good that is here.
What if your thoughtful giving this year extended beyond the gifts under the tree? What would it look like to be thoughtful in the giving of your time, attention, and energy this season? What if – instead of doing it all - you prioritized the traditions that brought you the most joy, peace, and merriment?
What would have to change for this next month to be about less “hustle and bustle” and more “pace and grace”?
